Lungile Mtiya and Associates as a South African business understands the concept and the importance of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment, hence the use of associates in most of the big businesses that we conduct. The South African economy is mostly supported by the Small Enterprises and these share in building the economy of the country. Lungile Mtiya and Associates shared within the business its projects with companies that are small with experience within both the corporate and government business operating within the Human Capital environment. These companies have a wide range of experience e.g. Human Capital Consulting, EmployeeRelations, Union representatives, Labour Lawyers, Legal, Recruitment, Training and Development, Organisational Development amongst others.
Prior to joining McDonald’s South Africa Lungile Mtiya was employed as a Human Resources Consultant at Super Group Automotive Parts (Denver). She undertook all functions related to recruitment, industrial relations, training & development, induction, performance management, employment equity & HR special projects.
She serviced +- 60 branches pertaining to all human resources & labour relations issues & demonstrated high work ethics, integrity and efficiency in all her tasks.
During her employment at McDonald’s South Africa, she presented and facilitated all labour relations courses for the entire group. She also conducted training on people practices, employment conditions and performance reviews. She also represented McDonalds at the Bargaining Council for Catering, Food, Restaurant & Allied Foods and CCMA.
Lungile was a part time lecturer at the University of Johannesburg in 2007, lecturing Advanced Industrial Relations for postgraduate students – BTech Human Resources Management & Industrial Relations 2 for 3rd year students (National Diploma in Human Resources Management & Retail Business Management students – Soweto Campus & Bunting Road Campus).
She is a Part time Commissioner at the CCMA, Johannesburg Regio nal Office. She also is a Part time Panelist at the following Bargaining Councils: Statutory Bargaining Council for Printing, Media & Packaging Industries, The Bargaining Council for the Restaurant, Catering & Allied Foods and Metal & Engineering Bargaining Council (MEIBC).

Lungile is a dynamic candidate with various qualifications to he r name. She holds post graduate degrees in Employment Relations / Labour Law & Human Resources Management. She also has completed a Master’s Degree in Labour Law & Employment Relations at the University of Johannesburg. Her dissertation was “The Effect of Discipline in an Employment Relationship”. Her experience and academic background have well prepared her to excel in a diverse, challenging environment with lots of accountability. She has formed strategic partnerships with other organizations and has a pool of associates with a specific intention of offering and exposing clients to the best in employee relations and human resources field. Lungile is a member of SASLAW (membership number” 1474) and has attended an accredited Workplace Mediator Skills Training by Conflict Dynamics.
Lungile has been part of a project for diversity training for all Anglo-American Platinum mines across South Africa in which she researched the manifestation of racism, sexism, favoritism and discrimination in the mining sector as well as implementing a diversity programme for all Anglo-American Platinum mines.
Lungile has also been appointed as Service provider to Anglo-American Platinum mines since 2012. The aim of the programme was to assist natural work teams throughout Anglos’ operations & assist employees with healing after the labour unrest and section 189 restructuring. Lungile has been appointed as a none executive director at Sodexo Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd and is an external chairperson of the employees’ trust fund. Lungile has been recently appointed as a Non-Executive Director at Gautrain Management Agency effective January 2021.
Lungile has completed the Women on Board course run by Business & Professional Women (BPW) in partnership with the Department of Trade & Industry (the DTI) and under the banner of the UN Global Compact of UN Women.
This course is designed to discover, train and deploy female management talent by strengthening the participation of women on boards. For the DTI, empowering women to participate fully in the country’s economy across all sectors is essential in order to build a stronger economy, achieve internationally agreed goals for development and sustainability, and improve the quality of life for women, men, families and communities. Training is conducted on various aspects of leadership including governance, ethics, risk management, sustainability and integrated reporting.

Lungile Mtiya from Lungile Mtiya Associates presented a Labour Relations Training to our Human Resource Managers and Shop Stewards on the 6th to 8th of August at our Isando Manufacturing Plant.
